October Lesson Plans: P is for Pumpkin!

Hi All!,
We have been having so much fun this week with pumpkins!  We learned about the letter P, the color orange, shapes, colors, counting to 5 and a whole lot more!  Come take a look!

We mixed red and yellow play-doh to make orange...
We practiced forming the letter P with Playdoh
Using the same mats; we also practiced tracing with dry erase markers
Letter Tub Object to Picture matching is always a hit!

We explored the inside of a pumpkin!
And guess what we did with this?

A Pumpkin Volcano!  Each student got a turn to put a small cup full of vinegar in the pumpkin!
We measured the pumpkin with a tape measure
And we measured it with cubes

We counted cubes
We painted these super cute jack-o-lanterns!

We practiced pumpkin shapes!
And we made pumpkin prints!

And of course our unit would not be complete without a visit to the pumpkin patch!
